Everyone loves the look of matte, shine-free skin (we even have a product for that here), but this year and especially this summer, one of the biggest beauty trends will be glowy skin. Not to be confused with slick, oily skin, but rather skin that looks healthy and radiant. Here are some tips to give your skin a healthy glow without having to apply makeup like bronzer or a foundation that’s 10 shades darker.
Apply sunscreen
Most people wouldn’t really think to do this but sunscreen or a moisturizer with a built in SPF can help achieve healthy, hydrated looking skin. SPF, which stands for Sun Protection Factor, reflects UVA and UVB rays off your skin to protect it and anything with an SPF can reflect light to make your skin look more glowy and radiant. But as a word of caution, too much sunscreen or a high SPF like SPF 120 will create a white cast and make you look pale, especially in situations where there is flash photography.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C is one of those miracle products that’s not only good to consume but also great to apply to the skin. Washing your face with a Vitamin C cleanser, like this one here, or this one by Clean & Clear, will help wake up dull, tired looking skin in the morning.
Exfoliate
I could go on and on about the benefits of exfoliating and why I love it so much. But in terms of creating natural looking radiance, exfoliating at once or twice a week can be a huge plus. Exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells. Over the counter products, such as this one from Arbonne, remove dead skin from the epidermis, the first layer of skin, and help promote cell turnover and collagen production. These processes help reveal fresh, new skin from beneath that layer of dead cells.
There are so many ways to create glowy skin and making it appear healthy and iridescent. But these three tips will provide you the best and quickest results to achieve a warm, natural glow. Good luck!
